The Okanagan Fest of Ale

May 9, 1998 - Penticton, British Columbia, Canada

This young fest in the B.C. interior has already developed a reputation as being one of the finer beer events in western Canada. It takes place at the Penticton Trade & Convention Centre and is reputed to be a great party. For more information, call 250-492-4355.

GABF Tour on the Road

May 15 - 17, 1998 - Baltimore, Maryland, USA

For the first time ever, the Great American Beer Festival is taking to the road and setting up shop in a state other than Colorado. This event will feature beers from over 120 breweries, including all of the gold medal winners from the 1997 GABF. The location is the Convention Center in downtown Baltimore and details are available from the Association of Brewers at 303-447-0126

Burgundian Beer Festival

May 29-31, Leuven, Belgium

Held every five years, this festival is marked by Medieval jousting, parades, celebrations, and of course, beer. What's more, reports indicate that this year's event will be even bigger and better than normal because of the extra celebration and ceremony attached to the 550th anniversary of the Town Hall. Call 32-16-22-70-99 or your local Belgian tourism office for more information.
