Quote & Comment -- What They Said and What I Think

The Quote

"Every actor has a defining moment in his career -- and we this was going to be Louie's. I'm sure he did his best, but the pressure may have been too much. We all know how devoted Louie is to Budweiser and how much this opportunity meant to him, but it's still too early to tell if we'll be able to give him another chance."

-- Michael LaBroad, vice-president, Budweiser marketing, Anheuser-Busch, quoted in a press release touting the latest Bud television commercial featuring the animated "Louie the Lizard" character.

The Comment

A high-powered brewing company executive refers to an animated lizard as if it were an actual person -- sometimes reality itself is so strange that it denies further comment.
