7th Annual World Beer Festival
Location: Durham Athletic Park
All About Beer Magazine will hold its 7th Annual World Beer Festival on September 21, 2002 at the historic Durham Athletic Park -- the ballpark in the movie Bull Durham. The World Beer Festival features 100 different breweries from around the world and 300 different beers. With more to offer than just beer, the World Beer Festival has eight different food vendors featuring restaurants from the Triangle, a wide variety of merchandise booths including beer paraphernalia, four quality bands, and children's entertainment. This year, the Carolina Theatre, the last of 13 independent theatres of Durham, is the beneficiary of proceeds. The Carolina Theatre is a non-profit arts centre dedicated to bringing quality film and live performances to the Triangle community. Admission: $18 in advance and $23 at the door
