April 2, 2004 to April 3, 2004 - Helsinki, , Finland

Helsinki Beer Festival

Monastery beers (Trappist, abbey, kloster) will be the special theme at Helsinki Beer Festival in 2004, featuring a large selection of beers brewed in monasteries in different European countries, in bottle and on draught. The festival will also once again feature the popular beer, cider, and whisky competitions, with the year's best beverages chosen by professional judges in different categories. The Helsinki Beer Festival provides a unique opportunity to taste a wide range of Finnish microbrews under one roof, including Sahti, while international breweries are present at their own and at their importers' stands.. Unlike most other beer festivals Helsinki Beer Festival is both a trade fair and a public festival; on Friday afternoon (April 2), admission will be restricted to trade only.
