6th Annual Big Beers, Belgians & Barleywines 2006
A weekend devoted to the sampling, education and enjoyment of specialty beer. Friday afternoon is the American Homebrewers Association-sanctioned Belgians, Barleywines and Strong Ales Homebrew Competition, with judging by a select panel. Friday evening is our Second Annual Big Beers Brewmasters' Dinner, returning by popular request. On Saturday afternoon, the tasting portion of the Big Beers Festival begins at 2:00 pm. at the Manor Vail Conference Center, which is open to the public and showcases over 125 different commercially produced specialty beers from around the world.

National Winter Ales Festival
The other major beer fest in the U.K., this annual event features wide range of draught and bottled real ales, ciders, perries, and draught and bottled foreign beers, plus the crowning of the 2006 Champion Winter Beer of Britain. The fest returns to Manchester following a two year absence.
Location: New Century Hall, Manchester, England Hours: Wednesday from 5:30pm to 10:30pm; Thursday (trade session) from 1:00pm to 3:00pm; Thursday from 4:30pm to 10:30pm; Friday and Saturday (both days) from noon to 10:30pm.
