In your review of Anheuser-Busch's Tequiza, you mentioned the lemon/lime/salt packet they gave you. Do you happen to remember the name of the product, or can you tell me how to find out more about it. Doing a little research on whether salt can improve (hide?) the taste of cheaper brews. Thanks,
Billy Tarpley
The salt was a short lived marketing tactic. I have no idea where to get it.
Quick question ... do u know the web address for Diagio? Would appreciate. thank you…
It's diageo.com. (Note spelling.)
I had a quick question for you. I will be in Toronto for business for a couple of days next week and will probably have a few hours to spare. I was thinking of trying one or two brewpubs. I've been to Toronto a few times but I have never really checked out the brewing scene there. Do you have any places to recommend (preferably close to the downtown core)? I think one of the major brewpubs there closed recently. Is it Denison's? Or maybe it was C'est What...
Anyway, any pointers you may have will be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
Tom
The best and only brewpub left in Toronto is the Granite (www.granitebrewery.ca). It's midtown, but well worth the trip.
Other places I'd recommend are C'est What, which it sounds like you know, and Smokeless Joe's, on John Street at Adelaide. Both are beer bars. If you want to sit on a patio with a good beer during the afternoon, I'd recommend the Esplanade Bier Markt on the Esplanade between Yonge and Church.
For other ideas, try www.bartowel.com.
My name is Vesna Ducic, and I live in Belgrade, Serbia. I used to live in USA, and since I was there I loved to drink Doc Otis`s Hard Lemonade. Since there is nothing like that over here, I would like to import Hard Lemonade to Serbia. Please let me know is there any chance for doing something like that. Thank you.
Doc Otis's is an Anheuser-Busch product which, I believe, they are unlikely to export outside of the US. However, you can always speak with the local Budweiser distributor to see if it might be possible.
In the meantime, I'd suggest experimenting with mixing your own. Start with lemonade, add vodka or rum and work from there.
I visited Montreal last month, and had a taste of a delicious beer that I can't seem to find any information about online..... Thought perhaps you could help me. I am not 100% sure, but I think it came from the Chez Gambrinus brewpub in Quebec, which I see from your site you've visited and sampled beers there. The fact that you mention an orange ale leads me to further believe this is the right place. The beer I'm looking for was called "Elven-something" (can't recall what the 'something' part of the name was) and the label pictured a fairy on it and a green apple in the lower portion of the label. It was a green apple flavored ale, and very light in color. The bottle itself was brown if I recall correctly. If you have ANY information on the full name of this beer or suggestions for where I might search further, I'd greatly appreciate your help. I've scoured the web and can find very little information on it myself, but having been to the brewpub yourself, I thought you might recognize this beer. Thanks in advance for any information you may be able to provide. Regards, Chris
The good news is that I know what beer you encountered. It was Ephémère, an apple-flavoured ale from Unibroue. The better news is that it's now widely available across the United States.
