To read all of this wonderful news about real ale and then to see that the site is sponsored by Fuller's is a travesty.
Real beer lovers in the U.S. have been waiting for years for cask ale to catch on and have been educating anyone who would listen about the joys of real ale and of the CAMRA movement in Britain. Then I walk into a new pub (part of a Canadian chain) called the Elephant and Castle here in Washington DC and I see three Fuller's beer pump handles. I asked the bartender (twice) if this was indeed real cask ale and she responded yes. The beer was NOT ANYWHERE NEAR what I remember from frequent trips to England. It is only later that I learn that this mock British pub is serving dead beer out of cask pumps and pawning it off as real ale. This helps no one! Why does Fuller's go along with this? How can I preach the gospel of real ale when this pub is pulling shenanigans like these?
Again, your site is wonderful and I have nothing against the content, but I would like someone from Fuller's (maybe through your site) to address this issue.

To address your concerns, first, World of Beer is not sponsored by anyone, Fuller's or otherwise. I make nothing from the site and those banner ads you see are placed by my site host, The Real Beer Page. They rotate throughout the realbeer.com network.
Secondly, I share your dismay regarding the fake handles in the E&C and at other places. You're quite right in that they do nothing to further the understanding or appreciation of the real deal, and I would encourage you to voice your concerns to both Fuller's directly (www.fullers.co.uk) and their U.S. agent, DBI (www.distinguished-brands.com).
Thank you for your positive comments about World of Beer. Glad you enjoy the site.

I am keen to link up with a brewing company that would consider entry into the beer market in Eastern Africa, which is currently monopolized and consumer choices are compromised. I hope through the updates I will realize my strategic dream.

If anyone out there is interested in entering the east Africa market, drop me a line and I'll pass your contact info along to Phelix.
