I spent a few years in Belgium as a young man and consumed large quantities of the world's best drink. Since then I have lived in several countries and none compare to Belgium either in variety and quality. I really do enjoy your web site. I'm sure you know better than I do that that imported beers in the United States do not do not taste like the originals.

I heartily agree with your assessment of Belgium, a land that I love, but don't overlook the U.S. as a source of variety and quality in beer. There's probably more going on in creative brewing in the United States today than anywhere else in the world.

Coming to Toronto in Nov., and heard you have a restaurant. What is it called and where is it?
- Suzanne Dyke
It's beerbistro, Suzanne, located in the heart of downtown, steps from the corner of King and Yonge streets, at 18 King Street East. For more info, check out beerbistro.com.
Great take on the New York Mag article! I was asking myself the same questions - how the hell did they come up with these flights?
- Kevin Gray
(Kevin is referring to the Bright Beer story relating to a beer tasting conducted by New York Magazine. Read it here - http://worldofbeer.com/brightbeer/new_york_mag.html - and check out the letter that I and five other beer writers sent to the editor here - http://nymag.com/nymag/letters/23170.)
Thanks for your response and support, Kevin. While I made the wine analogy in my story, an editor of mine, in email correspondence, went one step further by suggesting that the mainstream media wouldn't dare be as cavalier on the topics of design , art, theatre, etc. And he's absolutely right.
I'm a hop head, but I can change.

Just don't go changing too quickly, Chris. BC needs all the hops supporters it can get.
