North American Craft Brewing Dead? Some Aussies Think SoFrom the April 19 edition of the Melbourne newspaper, The Age, comes a story about number three Australian brewer, J Boag & Son, planning to take a crack at the U.S. beer market. Nothing terribly unusual about that---except for the fact that it will mark Boag's first foray overseas---but the opening paragraph of the article certainly raised my eyebrows.
Birra Italia -- Will That Be Red Beer or Red Wine?To begin with, I knew damn well that I wasn't visiting Italy for the beer. Even a poor, misguided and beer-obsessed soul like myself knows that you visit cities like Venice and Florence for their beauty, their history and their cuisine, but not their beer. So my expectations were, to say the least, kept low.
Black & Tan Barbecue SauceNow that barbecue season is back in full flight---although personally, I must confess to being a chronic, year-round barbecuer who recognizes no such season---I thought that it might be time to trot out a beer-based barbecue sauce recipe I developed a couple of years ago.
