What Steve Says:This book is my baby, the accomplishment of which I am most proud. In writing it, I wanted to do approach beer in a manner much different than that of most beer book authors, and I think that I did. As a result, Taste is neither guide nor manual, but rather a treatise on the enjoyment of beer.Included in A Taste for Beer are chapters devoted to the gastronomic marriage of beer and food, the fine art of cooking with beer and the best ways in which to maximize beer enjoyment through careful beer style selection. As all of these are subjects very near and dear to my heart, I humbly think that these sections constitute some of my finest writing ever. They are complemented by other chapters addressing beer style, a bit of modern beer history and the broad topic of beer enjoyment. This is a different type of beer book, to be sure, but it is also one which I believe will help any beer aficionado get more enjoyment out of each and every bottle. And if that isn't the primary purpose of beer drinking, then I'm definitely in the wrong business.
