What Steve Says:I'll be honest with you, this audio book has not sold nearly as well as Ashcroft Audio Books and I originally thought it would. Which is a shame, really, because I think that this is a very useful and entertaining production. And I'm not just saying that because I have an interest in it.Over two hours of audio conversation, these two tapes cover almost everything there is to cover in the world of beer. It's not just me talking, either. Most of the tape space is taken up with production pieces such as the interviews I conduct with beer luminaries like chef Candy Schermerhorn, importer Charles Finkel and beer historian Alan Eames. Or the brewery walk-though we take with Michael Hancock of Denison's Brewing Company of Toronto, Ontario. Or the tasting I conduct with some of my friends, featuring their reactions to beers from Pilsner Urquell to Cantillon Gueuze, all recorded live to tape. Or the extended tour we take of Rochester, New York's mammoth beer store, Beers of the World. What's more, not only is the material interesting and informative, but the production values are also first rate. Recorded and engineered for the most part in the studios of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, even the interview portions are as crisp and clean as a Bohemian pilsner. What the Critics Say:"Beaumont is the ideal guide: knowledgeable and articulate, with a genuine love of his subject and not a hint of pretention."- Quill & Quire
