WOB Gives Back – Partnering with Musicians On Call
World of Beer’s philanthropic initiative, WOB Gives Back, gives our locations and customers a chance to create good in our communities. Each quarter, we select a featured beer and $1 from the sale of every pint will go towards the cause. From July through the end of September, we are partnering with Musicians on Call and featuring Dogfish Head Hazy-O.
Musicians On Call (MOC) is the nation’s leading provider of live music in hospitals. Since 1999 MOC has brought live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities ranging from children’s hospitals to adult facilities, VA hospitals and hospices. MOC believes that all patients, families and caregivers should have access to and benefit from the healing power of live music.
Since we are partnering with a music-focused charity, we wanted to find a partner who has an immense passion for music and doing good for their community. Dogfish Head are self-proclaimed “beer geeks with a music problem”. “Our brewery has been obsessed with music since before we opened our doors,” says Sam Calagione, founder of Dogfish Head. “And these days, anytime I’m in the brewhouse, there’s something playing.” Dogfish Head has been the official beer of Record Store Day for several years and has collaborated with famous musicians across the world on beer releases inspired by, and meant to be consumed along with their music.
Dogfish Head Hazy-O is one of the newer entries into the ever-growing and popular Hazy/Juicy/New-England-style IPA category. Being Dogfish Head, they couldn’t just brew a traditional Hazy IPA and have created a truly “off-centered” version of a Hazy IPA.
Hazy-O is brewed with oats and wheat for a full mouthfeel and then dry hopped providing juicy tropical notes of citrus, mango and pineapple. What is so unique about Hazy-O is that it is brewed with four types of oats: malted oats provide the hazy appearance, rolled oats give the beer a silky mouthfeel, naked oats lend a toasted and nutty flavor and finally, oat milk, which delivers the signature haze and mouthfeel.
Check out Dogfish Head Hazy-O at a World of Beer near you and do some good while drinking this great juicy and tropical Hazy IPA!
Cheers for Charity
