WOB’s Own Secret Llama Blood Orange

Secret Llama, World of Beer’s proprietary line of beers, has partnered with domestic and international breweries to bring you one-of-a-kind beers. Currently, you can find Secret Llama Blueberry Wheat Ale & Secret Llama IPA in select markets, and, coming to a WOB near you, Secret Llama’s latest release, Blood Orange Belgian Blonde.

For this release, we were fortunate to partner with Brouwerij van Steenberge, one of the most well-respected breweries in the world. Brouwerij Van Steenberge is known for brewing Piraat and Gulden Draak, two beers that our most notably known by beer connoisseurs.  Their bold dichotomy of high-fermentation and approachability puts Brouwerij Van Steenberge in a class of its own. As if that is not enough, their Flemish Red-Brown Ale, Monks Cafe (a recipe that dates back to their founding in the late 18th century), was one of the first widely accepted sour beers in the United States. The unique flavors of the Van Steenberge yeast strain are undeniable and make their beers truly irreplicable.

Secret Llama Blood Orange Belgian Blonde clocks in at 5.7% ABV with a striking citrus aroma and bitter finish. This light blonde ale has bright fruity esters of pear and apple and is blended with a 40% Belgian wit which adds flavors of orange peel and coriander. The combination results in a medium-bodied beer with a silky mouthfeel.
